Open Questions

Track unresolved questions linked to your tasks. Questions have three statuses: open, answered, and cancelled. They appear in your Recap page and AI summaries so nothing falls through the cracks.

Slash Commands

/nqCreate a new question
/nq Should we use Redis for caching? -link KA12,KA15
/aqAnswer a question (auto-sets status to answered)
/aq Should we use Redis? -a "Yes, use Redis Cluster"
/eqEdit a question (status, link/unlink tasks, answer)
/eq Redis caching? -status cancelled
/lqList questions (default: open only)
/lq --status all

AI & Recap Integration

The AI assistant can create and answer questions via natural language. Try: "Ask: should we migrate to Postgres 17?" or "Answer the Redis question with yes".

Open questions automatically appear in the Recap page and are included in AI-generated summaries, so your team always knows what's unresolved.

Dedicated Page

View and manage all questions from the Open Questions page in the sidebar. Filter by project and status, create new questions, and answer them inline. Each question has an ID (for example KAQ12) shown as a green pill; clicking it anywhere opens that question.

The question window

Click a question anywhere outside the Open Questions page (the Quick Actions Panel, a meeting, a task's side panel or page, a mention in a note, the Recap page, a reminder) and it opens in a window right where you are, without leaving the page. It shows the status, who asked and when, the answer, any notes, its linked tasks and meetings, and the resources it was saved as. You can change the status, edit the question and write or edit the answer there.

Linked tasks show their status (and review stage) and preview the task when you rest the cursor on them. Use Link meeting to put the question on one of your meetings: the search finds the same meetings, in the same order, as a task's Related tab. The question's tasks go onto that meeting too, and the confirmation says which. Hover a linked meeting and click the X to unlink it.

Opening a linked task or meeting from that window brings you back to the question when you close it. The same goes the other way: a question or task opened from a meeting returns to the meeting, and closing the meeting returns to the Quick Actions Panel if that is where you opened it.

Reminders

Set a reminder on a question from its window, or from the question on the Open Questions page, the same way as on a task or a meeting. When it fires, it opens the question.

Save as resource

Use Save as resource on a question (on the Open Questions page or in the Quick Actions Panel) to turn it into a markdown resource in a folder you choose. The question stays, and its task and meeting links carry over. If you change the answer later, Karea asks whether to update the resource; if you say no, the resource is marked out of date.
