New In Karea: Continue Your Claude Code Conversations, And More Control For Organisations
This release gives organisation admins more control over how Karea works for their team, and lets you bring the Claude Code conversations you already have into Karea Connect. Here is what changed.
Continue Your Existing Claude Code Conversations In Karea
Started a conversation with Claude Code on your laptop before you set up Karea Connect? You can now pick it up in Karea instead of starting over.
- Find it when you start a session. Choose your machine, Claude Code and the folder, then open Continue a Claude Code conversation started on (your machine). Karea lists the conversations Claude Code already has in that folder, with their title, how they started and when you last used them.
- Continue it with everything in place. Pick one and it opens as a normal Karea Connect session, with the whole conversation so far, linked to the task you are working on.
- Nothing leaves your machine to find them. The list is read by the connector on your machine and travels end-to-end encrypted, like everything else in Connect.
This needs the latest connector on your machine: Karea shows an Update button when a new version is available.
Karea Connect, Tidier
- Work from the Tasks view. Click a task in the Tasks view and up to three of its sessions open side by side, ready to use. Pick which ones show; Karea remembers your choice for each task. Click another task to switch to it, and its sessions take their place.
- Sessions without a task now have their own No task linked tile in the Tasks view.
- Know when a task's session finishes. If one of a task's sessions finishes while you are looking at something else, the task's tile glows blue until you open it.
- Folders and projects everywhere in the list. When you group your sessions by folder or by project, the Archived section and Not used for over 2 days are grouped the same way.
- Calmer status pills. A session that is working no longer pulses; only Needs you and Finished do, so the ones that need your attention stand out.
- Works without graphics acceleration. On computers and browsers without WebGL, the session loading screen now falls back to a simple spinner.
For Organisations
- Your own address goes straight to sign-in. Your organisation's Karea address now opens the sign-in page, or your dashboard if you are already signed in.
- Your own icon. Organisation admins can upload a favicon (the small icon in the browser tab) in the organisation settings. Without one, the Karea icon is used as before.
- Your own contact email. Emails to your members and the messages they see now say "Contact your admin at" an address you choose in the organisation settings.
- Turn AI features on or off. Organisation admins can switch Karea's AI features off for everyone in the organisation, and those features are then hidden rather than shown and refused. When you turn them on, Karea first lists the external AI providers it uses.
- Turn Karea Connect on or off. Connect has its own switch, separate from AI features: it runs your own AI tools on your own machines.
- Karea Connect on your organisation's address. Pairing a machine and starting sessions now work from your organisation's Karea address too.
Smaller Fixes
- The formatting toolbar in notes now wraps onto a second line in narrow boxes instead of running past the edge.
